Block Exemption Regulation

In short and in plain language

A Block Exemption Regulation is a rule of the Union in Europe.

It lets some deals between firms go ahead.

Without it, such deals could be banned.

One such rule is for deals between makers and dealers.

Definition
A block exemption regulation is a European Union regulation that exempts certain categories of agreements from the ban on cartels. The Vertical Block Exemption Regulation covers agreements between businesses at different levels of the supply chain, for example between manufacturers and dealers.
