WRegG
Abbreviation for Wettbewerbsregistergesetz
In short and in plain language
The WRegG is a German law on a register.
A federal office keeps the register. It lists firms that have broken certain rules.
For larger orders, public bodies must check it first.
Definition
The WRegG is the Wettbewerbsregistergesetz, the German Competition Register Act. It governs the competition register kept by the Federal Cartel Office, which informs public contracting authorities about grounds for excluding a company from a procurement procedure. Under Section 6(1) WRegG, contracting authorities must query the register before the award if the estimated contract value reaches 50,000 euros excluding VAT; for a direct award they may query it voluntarily under Section 6(2) WRegG.
