Are there hidden costs such as license fees?

There is no license fee for Shopware Community Edition. Only at very high revenue does Shopware require a paid plan.
Your costs are for the build, hosting, upkeep and further work. We show the costs of outside services openly. We list it all before the start.
The platform itself incurs no license costs: Shopware Community Edition is open source under the MIT license. Since March 2025, however, Shopware's Fair Usage Policy applies: anyone generating an annual gross merchandise value (GMV) of more than 1 million € with the Community Edition needs a paid Shopware plan to keep using the Shopware Account and Store. If your shop is above that, we itemize these costs separately.
Your investment is transparently composed of development, hosting, maintenance and optional further development. Costs for paid extensions or external services, such as payment providers or credit agencies, we disclose openly rather than hiding them in a lump sum.
